The Council for the City of Covington will hold a CALLED MEETING on THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers of City Hall, located at 333 W. Locust Street, Covington, Virginia.
CALL TO ORDER & ATTENDANCE
APPROVAL OF AGENDA (Portion of meeting used to add or make changes.)
2025-2026 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET VOTE: Council will vote on the proposed 2025-2026 Fiscal Year Budget.
ORDINANCES & RESOLUTIONS:
- To consider and vote on Ordinance O-25-03: Imposing and levying Personal Property, Machinery, and Tools Taxes within the City of Covington. For the tax year beginning January 1, 2026, and ending on December 31, 2026.
- To consider and vote on Ordinance O-25-04: Imposing and levying Real Estate Taxes and Public Services Taxes with the City of Covington. For the tax year beginning July 1, 2025, and ending on June 30, 2026.
- To consider and vote on Ordinance O-25-05: Ordinance approving the proposed City of Covington’s Operating Budget and appropriating funds for the Fiscal Year from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, and regulating disbursements from the city treasury.
- To consider and vote on Resolution R-25-23: Alleghany Foundation Fund – Alleghany Foundation Grant of $93,532.00. (No City Match)
