"The city of Covington, its staff and leaders, send its deepest condolences to the family of Covington City Councilman and Firefighter C.J. Entsminger at the time of his passing.
Following current guidelines set by the Virginia Department of Health and the Virginia Funeral Directors Association, two family visitations will be held — Friday, March 20, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home. A limited-seating funeral service will be held in the chapel of Loving Funeral Home Saturday morning, March 21, at 11 a.m., with a graveside ceremony to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
To assist the Entsminger family, and to give the public an opportunity to participate, the city of Covington will be live-streaming C.J.'s chapel service beginning at 10:55 a.m. Saturday morning. The service will be live-streamed on the city's Facebook page, City of Covington Notifications. Please feel free to share this link on your personal Facebook pages.
Anyone wishing to attend only the graveside firefighter rites can assemble at Cedar Hill Cemetery at approximately 11:30 a.m. The graveside rites will not be live-streamed. Anyone attending the graveside rites, who are members of a service organization (firefighter, EMS, police, etc.) are asked to attend in your service uniforms as a tribute to C.J.'s service and legacy in the Alleghany Highlands community.
At a later date, the city of Covington will host a public celebration of C.J.'s life. More information on that service will be announced in the future. If you have any questions please call the staff of Loving Funeral Home at (540) 962-2283 or email the funeral home at Lovingfh@aol.com."
