The City of Covington would like to make citizens and businesses aware to

BE BEAR AWARE.

Black bears are becoming active again after emerging from their winter dens and are in search of food. Easy meals for bears often include human garbage, bird seed, pet food, and livestock feeds. When bears get used to getting easy meals around people, they may lose their natural fear of people and may begin investigating closer and closer to houses. Help keep bears wild and away from homes by securing attractants like garbage and other food sources.
