From the Covington Police Department:
At approximately 7:00 pm, the Covington Division of Police responded to the 700 block of North Pocahontas Avenue for a report of a man who had sustained a single gunshot wound to his chest. Upon arrival, Officers immediately secured the scene and discovered the individual deceased outside of the residence near the street.
A preliminary investigation has provided evidence to suggest that the wound was self-inflicted, but this matter is still an active investigation.
