The City of Covington would like to make citizens aware of the potential winter storm threat that may be impacting the region Sunday Morning thru Monday Morning. The US National Weather Service in Blacksburg, VA is reporting “Uncertainty remains in regards to how much warm air pulls in aloft and how far west it pushes. This combined with the overall track will determine if we see more snow or ice.”

WE ASK CITIZENS TO BE PROACTIVE AND PREPARE FOR THE WINTER STORM THREAT

Here are some tips to help be prepared as well as help The City with storm preparation.

• We ask those that can stay off the roads during the weather event to please try and remain home.
• We ask residences to be careful using space heaters, and be aware at all times while they are in use, so as not to cause a fire.
• We encourage residences to prepare and have food, water and medical supplies for a 2-3 day time span.
• If an outage has occurred please let Dominion Energy know immediately, their reporting number is 866-366-4357.
